Philippine Airlines' promo fare for our heroes... read on
Philippine Airlines salutes the nation’s heroes with a major seat sale on all its domestic routes next week.
Dubbed "Fly the Flag of Our Heroes," the promotion slashes one-way, economy-class fares on flights between Manila and any destination in Luzon or Visayas (as well as between Cebu and Davao) to P888, and between Manila and any point in Mindanao to P1, 888.
The promo fares are inclusive of value-added tax but do not cover aviation security and ticketing service fees. They are available for sale online and at PAL ticket offices and travel agents from July 19 to 26, 2010.
Tickets bought on these promo fares are valid for travel during two periods – between August 1 and October 15, 2010, and between November 7 and December 15, 2010.
These periods cover three national holidays honoring the country’s heroes: Ninoy Aquino Day on August 21, National Heroes Day on August 30 and Bonifacio Day on November 30.
PAL flies to three points in Luzon (Laoag, Legaspi, Puerto Princesa); eight in the Visayas (Bacolod, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Kalibo, Roxas, Tacloban, Tagbilaran); and eight in Mindanao (Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz, Zamboanga).

If you've been thinking about a trip abroad, but airfares to Europe have been out of your league this summer, we've been seeing some good fares from Dallas to Sydney, Australia.
We recently priced a midweek trip in August and found fares starting at $941, including taxes and fees. There is no last day to purchase listed on this sample fare, but we do expect that these deals will stick around for a short while. When we checked, the cheapest fares were on United and Delta, and travel was valid through Sept. 21. If you're traveling with children ages 2-11, United has discounted fares for kids, and you can save more than 20 percent off the adult fare.
If you're in the market for a trip to New Zealand, you can save on your ticket by entering an online contest. Enter the Great Kiwi Adventure Sweepstakes, and you'll receive a code for $100 off an Air New Zealand ticket. You also will get a chance to win four round-trip tickets to New Zealand. Taxes and fees are additional. The cheapest days to travel are Tuesday and Wednesday. Tickets must be purchased by July 23, with a 14-day advance, for travel through Sept. 29. Special US fare promo of Hawaiian Airlines ends July 16

MANILA, Philippines - Hawaiian Airlines recently announced its special round trip ticket offers to passengers who book flights from Manila to Hawaii and the US West Coast until July 16.
Under the airline's Hawaii Fourth of July promo, for only $416, passengers can go to Honolulu, Kona, Lihue, Maui and Hilo in economy class, valid for a maximum stay of one month from date of departure.
For passengers wanting to stay longer, the rate is $466 for a two-month stay, and $516 for a 3-month stay.
Business class travelers can avail of their special rate of $1348 for a maximum stay of 3 months.
Travel must be done between September 6 and December 23, 2010.
The airline's other promo, dubbed West Coast Fourth of July, offers round trip tickets to the West Coast (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle, and Oakland) for as low as $608 for a maximum stay of one month.
For a two-month stay, the rate is $658, while for a 3-month stay, the fare is at a low $708.
Business class tickets, on the other hand, are offered at $1,598 round trip.
For the West Coast Fourth of July promo, travel must be scheduled from September 6 to November 19, 2010.
All rates are exclusive of fuel surcharges and applicable taxes. Passengers can bring two pieces of luggage at 32 kg each without additional charges.
